Hydrotherapy for Dogs

Hydrotherapy for dogs is very common for the following conditions:

  • Osteoarthritis
  • Weight management
  • Cruciate damage
  • Loss of mobility
  • Spinal operations
  • Paralysis
  • Hip dysplasia
  • Subluxating patellas
  • Gait re-education
    • Hydrotherapy is used to initiate muscle activity as well as to strengthen & stretching muscles. It improves joint range of motion & assists in pain relief as muscles relax in the warm water as the joints & soft tissue are supported.

This physical exercise also works on the cardio-vascular system to develop stamina & endurance alongside its many other physical & physiological benefits.

Hydrotherapy is undertaken in our purpose built pool at Blossoms Animal Hydrotherapy centre. I also use other hydro pools & water walkers / water treadmill throughout Cheshire. Most treadmills can also be used dry for progressing gait re-education & strength.
