I have always loved animals & have been around them from a very early age. My family share my passion for animals & this reflects the wide variety of pets we have had over the years - horses, dogs, cats, hens, ducks, rabbits, guinea pigs, pigeons, fish, hamsters, mice, rats even a tortoise!! Not to mention the rescued wildlife that seems to find its way to our door somehow!!
It seemed only natural to me to want to work with animals & be around them each & every day. I looked into a number of career choices at secondary school & became aware of Animal Physiotherapy. With this to aim for, I went on to complete a Human Sports Therapy Diploma before studying Human Physiotherapy at Degree level qualifying in 2004. My ambition of becoming a Veterinary Physiotherapist was realised in December 2008 when I gained my Post Graduate Diploma from the Royal Veterinary College.
I have been riding for over 25 years & competed at local level dressage & showing prior to my Veterinary Physiotherapy training but I stopped to enable me to concentrate all my efforts into my study. I have 7 horses, my 1st pony Keighley who is 14hh Welsh partbred Arab who is 24 this year, Jasmin who is also 24 this year & is a Thoroughbred partbred Arab, a bombproof superstar but a little temperamental over her stable. I have Levi my 17 year old Dutch Warmblood who is a fantastic dressage schoolmaster. Reggie is my 16 year old Anglo Arab who is mum to my beautiful foal Fernanda who is half Andalusian. Togher Castle aka Yogi is a 10 year old ex Irish race horse that I have rehomed & is now hacking & schooling well. My newest project is a 5 year old hurdler, Bizzle who I will start working over the winter!!! Watch this space for their progress!!!
With my Specialist Physiotherapy skills, knowledge & experience alongside my compassion for animals & my quiet manner, I give you the owner & your animal a caring, quality & effective professional service.
